Haus of Yarn’s affinity for zinnias goes back to the beginning of the pandemic, when we learned that in old-fashioned flower lore, they represent thoughts of absent friends. Since then, our friend Rin at Nashville’s ModusOperandi Fibers has dyed us up something special with zinnias we grew ourselves each season.
2022’sinstallment is this simply incredible 100% organic sport-weight U.S. cotton dyed with Nashville-grown zinnias, marigolds, cosmos and scabiosa, supported by a little dip in lac dye for a bit of extra oomph.
There are two speckled colorways this year: green and yellow. Both are luscious hues that put us in mind of early summer evenings in the deep backyard, when fireflies first begin to speckle the air.
